so, does anyone remember that one survival guide to gunther's class that we wrote senior year of high school? i had pretty much forgotten about it until it came up in discussion one day. i convinced the current owner to let me borrow it for a bit so i could scan some of the tips.

aside for maybe this nifty l33t eye chart or this awesome visual wireless induction charger, the valentine cup set is probably the most useless piece of junk that i really really want right now. this isn't something i'd give to my boyfriend, because honestly, i'm not particularly interested in keeping tabs on when he's drinking. that's just slightly creepy and comes off a bit stalkerish.
no, i would probably give it to someone and try to mess with their head. i wouldn't mention the synchronized LED, but i would totally say that the cup glows when it detects the presence of angry spirits within a 3-foot radius. then i'd use my cup all the time just to freak them out into thinking they're surrounded by fiendish souls.  v

in an attempt to put off studying for ochem and anatomy, may i present to you the two most awesome people i've met here at cal:
jonathan ko (left) and jeffrey ni (right) of the chen-ko-ni alliance (as jingcheng so fondly refers to us as). so spring of freshman year, i found jonathan (with the help of his grandma aka my great aunt in taiwan handing me a slip of paper with his name on it and telling me to "go find him"). fall of sophomore year, i found jeffrey through jonathan. i heart you both and i'm so glad that you guys are in my life. family = ♥.
according to jeffrey, there might be another one of us here. i can't wait to meet her. finding family always makes me happy like  !

random memory of the month:
so last year about a week or so before finals, billy came to visit. that was the night the internet went crazy with the frantic instant messenging of a certain image link and the subsequent "OMG's" and "WTF's." i don't remember what (or who) started it all, but billy was chatting with someone on my computer and he clicked a link. then a myspace picture of one of our old high school acquaintances popped up and we both screamed simultaneously, causing my roommate to look over in bewilderment and concern. then of course, within minutes, the link was already circulating with similar responses.

random memory of the month:
exactly 2 years ago this very day, i came to visit the berkeley campus for the first time. i remember entering from west gate and thinking "holy shit the campus is pretty." i remember joining random tour groups as they introduced the campus and made fun of stanford. i remember the random shenanigans on sproul. i remember going up to the top of the campanile and wondering what the hell was up with those weird knobbed cheeto looking trees. i remember the different student groups tabling and flyering and selling food. i remember the numerous spontaneous "GO" yells that were followed up with equally hearty "BEARS" responses. i remember the excitement/energy the campus exuded, something UCSD had lacked (i had visited their campus a week or so prior to visiting the bear territory). what i remember most is the trolleys. "they have trolleys on campus? HELL YEAH!" 6 hours later when i got home, i immediately submitted my SIR...and then a few months later during orientation, i was told the trolleys only make an appearance once a year on cal day, and how they were probably used to rope in unsuspecting prospective students unfamiliar with the campus. needless to say, i was one of those unsuspecting prospective students unfamiliar with the campus. and yes, i was sold the minute i laid eyes on the trolleys.
